I'd love to, but can it wait a few years until I make my fortune?
Gimme your Pile and gimme your tail.

I live in New York, and I was thinking about the lagoon in Central Park, down near Central Park South. I was wondering if it would be frozen over when I got home, and if it was, where did the ducks go. I was wondering where the ducks went when the lagoon got all icy and frozen over. I wondered if some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or something. Or if they just flew away.

Roo wrote:Anyone know how I can make it so that I can FF to halfway through the video? I can only watch the whole thing. Apparently wmp says that only wm or DVD videos can be fast forwarded. Is there anything I can do?

you can do it with a program called "asftools". there's basically a bit of info stored in the video stream that enables and disables fastforwarding and rewinding. asftools can take the file and fix it so you can do it.

"make seekable" is the thing you want to enable..

it's worth making a duplicate of the webcast file before you do anything with it in case you cock it up.

ASF Tools seems to think it's already seekable & isn't making any difference!?

nope, it's just cut off ;) you've probably downloaded 20 or 30 MB of it.

USE A DOWNLOAD ACCELERATOR!

no idea then mate!

i don't have it on my mac, but i still have it on my PC.. i'm pretty sure that i could seek with it when i originally downloaded it. i have used asftools to fix the ben kweller webcast i downloaded, and that made it seekable.

maybe there's a "fix all headers" option somewhere.. i can't remember, not used a PC for ages.

Just got it. If you use asf tools to convert it to an AVI file it works.

You have to select Best Audio/Video Sync and then ignore the warning it brings up.

I converted to an AVI with ASF Tools, but it seems to become out of sync (audio with video) after about half way - anyone else had this problem?
