and mike newsham supported clarkesville, and he was super.

ok so those bands are local unsigned for me aswell!

1.3dbs down
2.40 odd yards
3.my dad is big (ok, so they split up, and the singer was a complete wanker, aswell as the drummer, but they were good at what they did)

Atticus www.atticusonline.co.uk
Toy Heroes www.toyheroes.org.uk
Threadbear (yes thats me) www.threadbear.info

All without question some of the best bands I've ever heard. Atticus are just this brilliant, life-affirming widescreen epic rock band that sound like Feeder when they were amazing as opposed to merely ok (about 1997). Held back by a name that suggests Blink 182 and other nu-punk wank.

Toy Heroes are an incredibly cute three piece pop band with hints of Weezer and Ween.

Threadbear is my band and we get compared to Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure and U2 but dont really sound like any of them.

and velvetine are also good but again i don't know if they're signed and i think they're local.
and third enigma are good [charlie's band] and they are local and unsigned.

1. apartment. i love them like i love mini eggs, because they're sweet and lovely, but they have a hard edge. or something. www.weareapartment.com
2. future of junior, because pete is a lovely man and they make nice sounds. www.futureofjunior.com
3. cherry falls would be sitting here, but they're signed and have their first single out soon. so instead, armchair multitude - www.armchairmultitude.com. their vocalist isn't the best, but he's not bad, and i like them.
Gimme your Pile and gimme your tail.

I live in New York, and I was thinking about the lagoon in Central Park, down near Central Park South. I was wondering if it would be frozen over when I got home, and if it was, where did the ducks go. I was wondering where the ducks went when the lagoon got all icy and frozen over. I wondered if some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or something. Or if they just flew away.

moolie - god knows how they're not signed. they're at a disadvantage cos they're older i think. but they play kinda funked up metal, and are amazing live.

i only have one because the rest, although supported when they play etc, actually suck.

woo james we have the same ones, well nearly

www.vender.co.uk ( steve played bass with them for abit and their bass player now is helping kato out whilst they are without a bassist)

www.sonara.co.uk greg and dan woot

www.abstain.tk well they're from wolverhampton but have played in walsall

and now i'm going to be cheeky and put one signed one

www.clarkesville.net ( steve plays for them and michael lead singer is his brother)

i know they are signed but they deserve to be looked at cos i don't reckon even tho' they are signed they don't get the coverage they deserve

Yep :) I love them!

Also, this is a really good topic - people should be more vocal about their local bands.

i've seen both those a couple of times and also 3db's down. jobeth and i play with kingskin.

it pains me to say it but, more than normal [click]. i don't really get on with the guys, but they are actually really good. pop-punk with decks. they're the only local unsigned band i can think of right now.
