my pc....again

i was trying to install a game, and it said i didn't have enough memory, which is odd as i have 2 256mb ones installed. so i checked them and one was a bit wobbly. so i took it out and put it back in, and the pc didn't like it, and now it won't work.

it boots up, but it doesn't communicate with the screen, so i can't see anything.

hmph :(

When messing around inside it you may have nudged the video lead.

Trace the cable back from the monitor to the Pc and make sure it's fully connected. If it is, then open it up and look inside. If the monitor plugs into a socket which is immediately on the motherboard, then it's not so easy, but if the socket is on a card, then make sure the card is fully sat in the port correctly.

Let me know if this sorts it.

i can't see anything thats been dislodged, the video lead plugs into the motherboard (from what i can see) and the memory slot is quite far away from it.

hmm. shit.

Is the power light on the monitor on? If the Pc is connected then, then the system boots up, the power light changes colour.

If there's no light, then there's no power to the monitor.

If the light is on, but doesn't change colour, then there's a faulty connection to the PC.

If the light is on and does change colour, but still with no screen then try pressing the controls on the monitor for things like brightness and contrast. Just to get a reaction.

the lights on, but doesn't change colour. :(

but now the whole thing is being odd, as there's a switch at the back of the pc to turn the power off too, and when i switch that on. the green light on the power button at the front comes on, which shouldn't happen :?

i'm confussssssssssssedddddddddd.
