but i thought when we put the clocks forward its to stay in time with gmt because it does it too?

No, GMT is always a fixed time, British Sumemrtime is GMT +1.

i'm already on gmt+1 from last summer. but my time thing is still out. i don't understand. surely it should of evened out by now?

ok. it has evened out, but the clock i checked it against i'd forgotten to put forward. so. i was wrong.
