Clarkesville single 'Secret File' out today!

Postby James » Mon Aug 11, 2003 1:15 am

Dear all,

This is Michael here, checking in from Clarkesville to where-ever you may be...

Thanks so much if you've bought the album already. We totally appreciate your support at this early stage.

As you may know by now, our first single "SECRET FILE" comes out on August 11. It's already had some good airplay...my request is this...if you like the song and you want to support the band, go and buy it in the first week. Oh yeh, and spread the word too!

The B-sides include a previously unheard track called "Holding On", which was a hair away from being on the album. Neil from Travis provided the drumming. I'm extremely proud of this song...too good to be a B-side I reckon. But what the hell?!

Also included is the video to "Secret File". We made the video in one day (long and exhausting). It was directed by Scott Lyon who really did a fantastic job. Check out how quick my roadies are, witness the band moving into hyper-speed and catch a glimpse of how untidy my apartment is. Ok so it's not really my apartment...but don't tell anyone (it can be our little secret).

I've asked James and Mark (who do email so much more efficiently than I do) to circulate this. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Bye for now.

Michael

I went specially to Brent Cross to get it and they didnt have it. They said they could order it but it would come in about a week, by which time I'll be in Edinburgh. Great(!)

All - you will only def get it in Virgin & HMV as it's really not a MAJOR single release - just a warm up....if you can't find it in store - get it from www.hmv.co.uk - it's nice & cheap there!

Marc - a company called Velocity PR, a chap who used to be head of press at Creation. They're also now doing PR for Sonara: www.velocitypr.co.uk

Ahh - after spending about an hour sifting out all the junk mail I got and blocking the servers (about 150 messages?!) I don't think I ever got round to reading the minority of actual emails. Just read it now and turned on Xfm literally just now... is this him playing now??

Ooh, I like it. I guess I've missed any other songs. Sounds awesome though. Is the CD likely to be available at HMV etc? Might try and check it out...

It's only £1.99 on cd, or 99p on 7" and they all count!
