WHAT WOULD YOU PEOPLE SAY TO A MEETUP?

Postby The Wizard » Sun Dec 05, 2004 1:19 pm

It's been nearly a year. I think it's about time don't you??

Get a venue, get a band, get everyone in one place for a day or two?

Any location suggestions? And remember people are all over the country...not just in the south!!!

Eh...Nottingham. Or Manchester. Leeds bad.
Gimme your Pile and gimme your tail.

I live in New York, and I was thinking about the lagoon in Central Park, down near Central Park South. I was wondering if it would be frozen over when I got home, and if it was, where did the ducks go. I was wondering where the ducks went when the lagoon got all icy and frozen over. I wondered if some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or something. Or if they just flew away.

Er, I'd be up for it, but it would be much easier if I was a place that was relatively easy to get to (ie, doesn't involved lots of changing trains - distance isn't really an issue if I just have to plonk myself on a train, just more expensive), but then again, i'll probably end up going no matter where it is...

I think the North is a decent idea. But I know that many of the Southern people have difficulty getting there.

If we're going to be going somewhere South, I think Ali has a valid point in saying it would be handy to be on the major lines.

I know the Edinburgh - Kings Cross line travels through major places like Newcastle, Durham, York, Doncaster...and then I can't really remember...

But if there are enough people interested then we can start getting some ideas together.

i say bring it on!! :D

i'm not bothered where it is, as long as it's somewhere people will show up to.

and as long as it's not until after christmas.. ha.

this would be so cool. i didn't think i'd ever get to see the real mcfly.

maybe having it in birmingham again or thereabouts is a possibility? lots of people seemed to be able to show up there... even ones that don't post on here regularly anymore that i haven't seen since greenbelt, and would like to see again :?

I'd go if it was in Birmingham. I need to be able to get home afterwards.

Well everyone who lives nearby usually offers up floor space or something similar. Everyone helps eachother out when these kinda things happen.

I seem to remember a plethora of people on Chloe's floor for the Bedford meetup!

I can't sleep on floors. I have too many problems with my body!! Its the only reason I haven't been to one before. The one in Birmingham before was when I was at Uni in Exeter. I don't mind driving for an hour or so but I have to be able to get home to a bed.

nottingham or birmingham would be cool, cos it's pretty much in the middle, hence why we're in the midlands. but yeah i think we should have it around this area. i can look for venues around here possibly.

aye! sounds good to me :)

obivously i say leeds, and could accomodate about 6 or 7 people which would be an obvious help but then i am actually the only one who lives IN leeds :?

north is good, midlandsish is good, south is bad.

We *so* need to meet up some day! It takes me half an hour to get to Romford these days though (when I'm in billericay).

And meetup-wise Nottingham is baaaad for me coz it takes 10 hours to get there, but I prob wouldn;t come anyway so no worries.

North or midlands is good...
If it were Manchester people could stay at mine...i'll fit as many in as i can...and there are frequent trains to and from picadilly and probably victoria too.
Birmingham was good last time though...i guess it would be easy to get the same venue again...

xx
