Suggest a title for Josh's E.P.

Postby James » Thu Sep 09, 2004 7:09 pm

Josh has asked for your suggestions, so post 'em here.

And if he decides to use your title, you'll get a bag of Dum Dus lollies from Josh, or something...!?

(This is a solo effort, no band)

It'd be a bit silly to name Josh's EP after another band's album/song, though, wouldn't it?

Take The Wolf By The Ears
Gimme your Pile and gimme your tail.

I live in New York, and I was thinking about the lagoon in Central Park, down near Central Park South. I was wondering if it would be frozen over when I got home, and if it was, where did the ducks go. I was wondering where the ducks went when the lagoon got all icy and frozen over. I wondered if some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or something. Or if they just flew away.

now, call me a bluff old traditionalist, but aren't most albums or EPs normally named after a song lyric or title or other song-related information?

as such, wouldn't it make more sense for people to post suggestions after they've heard the music. i don't know if that will happen though..

as for naming it after a dum dums song or something, well, i can't say i agree with that either. you didn't see a john lennon or paul mccartney album called "she still loves you" or "paul am the walrus" did you?!

nooo, it'd be more original to have a name that wasn't just pinched from the best song title or lyric or whatever.

I like that. 'Cause there's also that he's been in a band and is now doing stuff on his own, sort of thing.

Yes, I have no decent suggestions of my own so i'll keep quiet.

I reckon 'Emo Is Dead' - kind of a Juliana Theory reference, kind of a statement!

EP Title

Postby b293oju » Mon Sep 13, 2004 9:02 am

Josh,
I feel I would be better placed to suggest a title if I heard the songs before hand, if you want to send me a copy of your demo I would be more than happy to spend time contemplating the hidden depths of the words and come up with a corking title for the EP

No!?! Oh well, had to be worth a shot.

What about "Not so Dum anymore"

i know we can't hear the songs yet but could we not see the lyrics for the new tracks appear on www.joshdoyle.com?

Plus this way it'd genuinely be a lyric we like and won't have been biased by the music that goes with it.
