News: Josh Doyle Is Back!

Postby James » Sat Sep 04, 2004 2:29 am

We are pleased to announce that former Dum Dums singer/guitarist Josh Doyle will be returning from the musical wilderness in the near future to release his new EP! This will be Josh's first musical outing since the end of the band and promises to be something special.

Here's what Josh had to say, briefly: "I have an e.p coming out soon and a whole bunch of new things are going to be happening. There will be an email going out to the Dum Dums mailing list soon, and more details will be included, so make sure you're signed up!"

This forum is here for you to talk about Josh's new plans - which we will be revealing much more of very soon!

And before long www.joshdoyle.com will be re-launching, to keep you up to date with "the one that moved to America"...

We know no details, but I'm sure a copy won't be hard to obtain if it's not.

Is JDog going down the iTunes route?
Gimme your Pile and gimme your tail.

I live in New York, and I was thinking about the lagoon in Central Park, down near Central Park South. I was wondering if it would be frozen over when I got home, and if it was, where did the ducks go. I was wondering where the ducks went when the lagoon got all icy and frozen over. I wondered if some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or something. Or if they just flew away.

Nah - they steal your money! It will be on sale via JD.com, probably using paypal - all the details are being worked out at the moment...

Paypal business is pretty reliable - there are loads of bands using it, and i use it all the time. Its just your average credit card machine deal.

yeah cos when you register they take two tiny amounts from your account, and you have to get a statement from cash machine/bank/online account to find out what the amounts are, and re-enter them in paypal so they know it's your card.. they refund them back again after you complete all that :)

It will be paypal only.

The reasons being;

1) It's as secure as anything else on t'internet - no one ever sees your bank details, just your paypal name - ans when buying it's just like using a website shopping cart.
2) You can sign up with most credit/debit cards (inc solo I think, and electron)
3) A Gazillion Ebay users use it, so it's really not that hard to set up an account and then buy stuff.

If people don't have an account it would be wise to set one up ASAP, because as Clo says, they have to verify your card belongs to who you say it belongs to.

To do this they take 2 very small (we're talking pence) payments out of your account - then when you see your statment (in the post or online) you make a note of the amouts (say 12p and 8p) you then go to your accoutn and put in '12' and '8' where it tells you - this proves it's YOUR card, as only you can look at your statement.

It really is easy, but obviously takes a few days from when they take the payment to when it shows up on your statement - so sign up now!
