Why can't I see the video? it's playing but it's just....black. Why might that be? Is it because my computer sucks? Because it does you know.

I've just read all the reviews ruth collected and like.. eurgh. they're positive, but could they compare him to many more people?! why can't they just talk about his music on it's own merit rather than making *constant* comparisions? i mean i know it can help people decide if they'll like it but in my mind his voice is nothing like richard ashcroft?! gr :(

but you have to compare new artists to people in reviews otherwise if it just said 'this album's fucking amazing' people would be like 'oh right, but what's it like?'

but he sounds nothing like Richard Ashcroft.

btw james

is nikolaj & nikolij the same person? & if they are, which one is the correct spelling? i was confused so i was, cos the album credit watzits spells it like the latter, but i believe the secret file pictures thingy spelt it like the..earlier.

& richie mills is the same person who used to be in sunna isnt he. meheh. i liked that one song.

"Nikolaj" is the correct spelling I think (bloody Danes!), but it's wrong in the album thanks!

And yes Richie Mills was the drummer in Sunna/Earthtone9/Cable and he knows every british rock musician, he's also the boyfriend of the wonderful Ms Imogen Heap.

i think they got the richard ashcroft thing from the voice with the strings combination? on it's own, mike has a way nicer voice that sings a melody, rather than a seeming drone that sounds half a semitone below the actual note he should be aiming for.

the neil finn comparisons are cool though :)

yees that's why i said 'i know..' etc.. i dunno. they could just be a bit more accurate with it rather than flinging around names. or maybe it's just cos i don't like many of the people they compared him too :/

Gimme your Pile and gimme your tail.

I live in New York, and I was thinking about the lagoon in Central Park, down near Central Park South. I was wondering if it would be frozen over when I got home, and if it was, where did the ducks go. I was wondering where the ducks went when the lagoon got all icy and frozen over. I wondered if some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or something. Or if they just flew away.

I've actually bought it now. I got very excited in HMV. Although they had run out of the playlist CDs and wouldn't accept my student card as discount. Bastards.

I've had a thought, Kerrie. Instead of reserving anyone for anyone, you could just tattoo Mike with 'I was here first'

oooooooooh it's lovely. only a week to go :D and i advertised the album to a rather lovely looking boy on the bus who was wearing a Ramones t-shirt. i got it out right in front of him and opened up the booklet to read, making the cover visible to everyone. hehehehehehe Holsx

i got the album from hmv.co.uk in the post this morning. very good.

and about the richard ashcroft thing.. he doesn't sound like ashcroft in general, but some parts of "heavy soul" do.. that kind of crooning style.

if that makes sense.

i need to dig up that minidisc of mike at the scala supporting the DD's..
