Dotmusic Interview

‘The concept of the video is that there are two fans, both of which are Dum Dums fans. The younger girl is trying to impress her sister by having built a model of the band. Unbeknown to her when she starts moving the charcters or drops the model of us (who are doing a show on TV) do the same thing that the puppets do. She manipulates them to do everything she does, to the point of pulling my trousers down.'

'The shoot was good because we had a lot of extras so there were more people for us to chat with in the day and hang out with, which was nice. It was quite energetic and fun. Our video shoots have both been loads of fun because we just have a laugh. By the end of the day you are exhausted but it is a good escape from the tour bus.'

'When I woke up the next morning I couldn't move which is one of the down sides to the video shoot. After the first video I could feel every part of my body individually. This time it was mainly my calves because me and Josh had to pogo up and down on the spot for an hour because Josh couldn't jump up and down in time with the music’
My favourite scene is obviously the one where I get to punch Josh in the face three times in a row and then smack him over the face with my bass – that was my real arm doing that, no stunt doubles at all! I've already spent a whole evening rewinding and watching that bit again. It's got to be one of my most joyous memories for years to come.'

'There were certain shots they wanted to get that were really hard. I prefered this video shoot to the last one, this one had a bit more of story which I had fun watching develop. I dug having all the extras come in because most of them didn't know our song so when we started they started getting into it.'

'For the next video we want to go somewhere hot - for a week!'
